2D to 3D Studio Art

Course Type: Elective

 

This course will unlock students' creative potential in 3 dimensions. 2D/3D studio will take students on a journey that will change the way they view and interact with their physical world.  Students will learn how and why art has influenced history, celebrated culture, expressed viewpoints, and influenced opinions amongst the other important aspects of art. Students will use real world art tools and materials to embark on a journey from flat to form. Students will learn how to work independently on a work of art, as well as collaboratively. 
Semester 1: Collage, mixed media, and  printmaking
Semester 2: In the round sculptures, relief sculptures, assemblages and readymades, and anatomy in 3d form
At the end of the course students will have many sculptures to add to their digital portfolio.
