Reading and Creating Graphic Novels
Course Type: Elective
Graphic Novels is an elective course in which students study comics and graphic novels as literature. Students will read various graphic novels in order to analyze themes, narrative structures, and how illustrations enhance the written word, allowing them to appreciate this powerful literary form. In the second half of the course, students will become creators themselves, developing their own graphic novels with original writing and illustrations. Students will leave the course not only with a deeper understanding of graphic novels as literature, but also a finished graphic novel that showcases their creativity and storytelling skills.
