At Gramercy Arts, we combine a love for the arts with strong academics. Our school is located at 40 Irving Place, just a two-minute walk from Union Square in Manhattan. Because we are in the heart of the city, we partner with world-class groups like the Alvin Ailey studio, the Whitney Museum, and the NY Theater Workshop.

What We Offer

We help students turn their passion for art into a future career. Here is what makes our school special:

  • Four Years of Art: Students take art classes every year in performing arts, visual arts, or our capstone program.

  • College Credit: We offer nine AP courses, including Art History and Computer Science. You can even earn college credits through our partnerships with Baruch and Hunter College.

  • The Chancellor’s Endorsement: Our graduates earn a special diploma that honors their hard work in the arts.

Support for Every Student

We want you to feel ready for the world. To make sure you succeed, we provide:

  • Dedicated Counselors: Three full-time counselors and college advisors start working with you in the 9th grade.

  • Wellness Support: We care about your mental health and emotions, not just your grades.

  • A Welcoming Home: Gramercy Arts is an inclusive school. We do not tolerate racism or discrimination. We make sure every student has a strong relationship with at least one adult in the building who knows them well.
