Advanced Studio and Portfolio
Course Type: Core Visual Arts Sequence Year 4
This course will open the door for senior students' creative potential to create artwork for their final digital and physical portfolios. Students will enhance their studio habits during the creation process and explore themes seen in traditional and contemporary art history, including alignment to identity and investigation of self. Students will participate in all aspects of the creative process including investigation, envisioning, designing, expressing, refinement, synthesizing, sharing and presenting. Areas of focus will include charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, ink, and mixed media, among other materials and techniques. Through written reflection, artist statements will reflect on the challenges and risks taken in the development of artworks.
*Prerequisites: This course is for seniors and requires students to have taken Studio Art Foundations, Graphic Communication, and Advanced Digital Design.
