Graphic Communication
Course Type: Core Visual Arts Sequence Year 2
Students will learn how to utilize the building blocks of Graphic Communication including form, line, shape, space, color, composition, and typography. Students will use both traditional (collage, painting, printmaking, drawing, and photography) and digital media (Adobe Creative Suite) while developing studio habits and visual thinking skills to explore their thinking and come up with innovative solutions to presented problems. Students will learn about careers in the arts, including careers in the graphic design industry, illustration, branding, and advertising. They will learn about how artists and designers think and work, and shape the world around them.
*Prerequisites: This class is for sophomore students, and all students should have taken (or be currently taking) Art 1, Studio Art Foundations.
